    Registration & Pre-enrolment

    *Registration Update*

A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes

Lymburn School is full in planned classes in Kindergarten, Grades 1, 3 and 4 in the Cogito program.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

    Random Selection for Cogito Program

Lymburn School has received more applications for the Cogito program in Kindergarten, grade 1, grade 3, and grade 4 than the school is able to accommodate. Our school will therefore be undergoing a Division supervised random selection process for Cogito kindergarten, and grade 1, 3, and 4.
Parents will be contacted regarding the outcome of the random selection no later than Tuesday, April 26.

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

If your child is born in 2017, your child may start Kindergarten in September 2022

Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2022 may register in Kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year.

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year.

If you have questions about registering for school, contact the school office..

    Cogito – new student registration
Following the close of pre-enrolment at 4 p.m. on April 14, should there be more Cogito
applications than there is space, the school will follow a random selection process .

Get ready for the 2022-23 school year! Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between March 8 and April 14 to select your child’s preferred school for next year. If you're interested in online, learning pre-enrol at Argyll Centre.

Whether your child is staying at the same school or changing schools, all students need to pre-enrol. Knowing how many students to expect helps schools prepare to welcome them in September.

If you need help, contact the school or read the pre-enrolment handout

    Pre-Enrolment Parent Information

Update your child’s current address with the school office before pre-enrolling in SchoolZone.

    New to the Division?

Instead of using SchoolZone, students who are new to Edmonton Public Schools need to submit a completed Student Registration form. Find the form and list of supporting documents you need to provide.

Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is my pleasure to extend a heartfelt welcome to all new and returning families to Lymburn school.

As a staff, we focus on high quality teaching and learning. The dedicated staff of Lymburn work diligently to provide engaging learning opportunities for your children, which foster curiosity and a love of learning. As a staff, we believe:

  • That each student is unique, with his or her own potential for growth and success
  • That students learn best when they are actively involved in a safe, caring, challenging environment  where risk-taking is encouraged
  • That student growth is enhanced as students learn to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour and when staff and parents share responsibility for student development and education

Education is a partnership between home and school and we rely on communication to establish and maintain relationships. Our primary means of communication will continue to be SchoolZone. This secure web portal is designed to provide parents and students with information. School news and events are posted as information becomes available. We look forward to working with families to provide the very best learning opportunities for our students. Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.

I am excited for the opportunity to serve the students, staff and parents of Lymburn School and I look forward to the coming year.
